My daughter was recently in need of a bigger dresser. However, we didn't want to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a new one. So, why not give an old dresser a fresh makeover at a fraction of the cost?
We started looking at local consignment stores and found a nice, sturdy 6 drawer dresser for only $20!!! It was a light wood color with metal knobs and handles. Not something that flows with the rest of the furniture in her room.
My husband got to work sanding the dresser and then painting it. He used a slightly off white color that matches her nightstand and desk. Since the accent colors in her room are blue, pink, and green, he also spray painted the handles to match.
Voila!!! A new makeover on an old item.

Happy Fourth of July
Happy Fourth of July!!!
Today is the day we celebrate America's independence. It's also a time for many people to get together with family and friends and have some fun. Here are some different ways to celebrate.
Go to the lake
Have a picnic
Enjoy a parade
Grill some yummy food
Speaking of food, today is the perfect day to enjoy some great American dishes.
Hamburgers
Hot Dogs
Baked beans
Grilled corn on the cob
Watermelon
Of course, you can't forget dessert!
Apple Pie
Ice cream
A patriotic cake
Finally, you have to take in a great fireworks show!!!
Whatever you decide to do or decide to eat, take a moment and reflect on the freedom we have in this country. I would not want to live anywhere else!

What's Your Favorite?: Mugs
I've decided to start a new series called "What's Your Favorite?". I'm simply going to share some of my favorite decor, items, colors, etc. to try to inspire you to find some of your favorites too.
MUGS
I love coffee. LOVE IT! It's nice to drink in the morning, relaxing at night, warms the soul during rainy afternoons and cold evenings. But to fully enjoy the soothing concoction, you need just the right mug.Personal Collection:
Here are my favorite mugs from my own cabinet.
This was given to my by some awesome friends. I fell in love with the polka dots and it quickly became a favorite!
This Be Our Guest mug was a souvenir from a gift shop in Disneyland.
I bought this Queen of Hearts mug on clearance at a Disney Store a few years ago. I love the color scheme and design.
Music Mugs:
Being a musician, I love just about anything associated with music.
Less Is More:
Sometimes a simple design or phrase attracts the eye.
